M2FX plc is the owner of the technology developed and patented by Miniflex Limited.
Miniflex (www.miniflex.co.uk) designs and manufactures patented plastic tubing that protects and manages optical fibre and installation solutions. Its core product is the Optical Fibre Protection Tube ("OFPT") which it sells as tubing or cable into the telecom, datacoms, aerospace and automotive industries. Unlike normal smooth plastic tubing, OFPT has a higher resistance to kinking when bent.
M2FX’s range of Miniflex optical fibre protection, management and installation solutions are targeted at the burgeoning Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) market. These products allow faster and easier fibre installation, and reduce the cost of that installation. The Miniflex technology means that the company's products and installation solutions provide a competitive edge for its customers. This will allow communication companies to make the most of the vastly higher bandwidth capabilities of the optical fibre to deliver computer, TV and telephone direct to consumers’ homes.
M2FX also owns a design division, Minima (www.minima.co.uk), which is an award winning product design and development consultancy. Miniflex makes use of Minima’s expertise in product development as do many blue chip clients including GSK, BT, and Olympus.
M2FX is based at the unique Framlingham Technology Centre (www.t-centre.co.uk), a centre developed to create a multi-skilled centre for new product development and cater to the needs of hi-tech start-ups. FTC provides a professional workspace and is home to many experts, each specialising in their own field, as well as providing a natural networking environment for those who use it.
